Pitfalls
- Do not allow the successful candidate to suffer the "poster child for physics" syndrome. That is, because the person is a minority candidate, he/she will be drafted to contribute to lots of diversity/outreach type activities.
- Keep the person focused on those activities that will allow them to obtain tenure.
