Who is This Information For?
This visa information is for non-U.S. citizens/residents traveling to the U.S. for attendance at the 2009 APS March Meeting. If you plan other visits, such as business or vacation trips before or after the March Meeting, this information may not be appropriate for your plans .

Visa Deadlines

APS 2009 March Meeting prospective participants should familiarize themselves with visa requirements well in advance of the March Meeting. APS encourages you to apply for your visa as early as possible, beginning in September 2008. You should apply no later than November 30, 2008.
Visa Wait Times
Some consulates may have backlogs in scheduling visa interviews so applicants should first contact their consulates to find out how long the wait is for an interview.
You can look up your consulate's wait times on the U.S. Department of State's Visa Wait Times list.
Visa Invitation Letter
If you need a personal letter of invitation to attend the March Meeting, fill out the Meeting Invitation Letter Request form. Your letter will be emailed to you. To avoid delay, please send APS current and correct information.
Don't delay! It takes 7 to 10 days to generate the Meeting Invitation Letter. Request your letter by November 30, 2008.
